The founder member of Gajanan Bakery Mr.Vitthal Babaji Mali was working in other bakeries for experience from 1952 to 1960. In 1960 Vitthalrao started his own unit with wood fire oven. His wife Mrs. Rukmini assisted him in production.

The products were Limited, Bread, Butter & Khari. Vitthalrao used to sell bakery products, loading on bicycle, door to door as well as in weekly Bazars. Vitthalrao, first time in kolhapur in 1971 started PILACHI VARKI. In 1973, film “Bobby” was released and public of kolhapur named the Varki as Bobby Varki. Due to quality, business florished shortly.
